Five out of 1228 pediatric HGG patients developed a SSM following a latency of 29-122 months from primary HGG diagnosis. In 4 patients, the SSM may be attributed to previous radiotherapy or a tumor predisposition syndrome, reflected by a markedly increased cumulative incidence rate of SSM in patients with tumor predisposition. Survival was devastating, since none of the patients survived beyond 18 months from SSM diagnosis. | ||
