A numerical estimate of the field strength experienced by Υ\Upsilon mesons embedded in the expanding QGP and its consequences on the Υ\Upsilon dissociation is made. The electromagnetic field effects prove to be negligible compared to the established strong-interaction suppression mechanisms.
