Application of saccharin as an acidic partner in the ugi reaction for the one-pot synthesis of 3-iminosaccharins

The use of saccharin as a replacement for the carboxylic acid component in an Ugi multicomponent condensation leading to [(1,1-dioxido-1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)amino]acetamide (3-iminosaccharin) derivatives is described for the first time.</p>
