Damit gelingt zum ersten Mal eine ebenso doxographische wie wissenschafts- und sozialgeschichtliche Erschließung der Konstitutionsphase einer bis ins 18. Jahrhundert äußerst einflußreichen, ebenso naturkundlich wie religiös inspirierten Reformbewegung. Die Texte werden philologisch-kritisch in ihrem Überlieferungszusammenhang dokumentiert, ggf. mit einer Übersetzung aus dem Lateinischen dargeboten, außerdem mit ausführlichen Erläuterungen versehen, die bisher dunkle Zonen der deutschen, ja auch der europäischen Kulturgeschichte erhellen. Im Mittelpunkt des Kommentarwerks stehen erste Spuren der Paracelsus-Rezeption (u.a. bei G.J. Rheticus), dann vor allem das umfangreiche zweisprachige Corpus (1560 ff.) des Basler Arztes Adam von Bodenstein. Der Band wird eingeleitet von einer ausführlichen Darstellung des frühen Paracelsimus und seiner späteren Ausstrahlung, enthaltend auch die bibliographische Dokumentation des europäischen Forschungsstandes. | ||
