To that end, it proposes a synchronically oriented thesis over against Hermann-Josef Stipp’s diachronically oriented thesis. According to the former, the text attested in the Septuagint was composed in the second half of the 6th century BCE. After the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem and the end of the kingdom of Judah, the narrative describes in exemplary fashion the relevance of an appropriate reception of written texts from and about Yhwh for Judah’s future with Yhwh. | ||
