Die christlichen gnostischen Schulen benutzten Begriffe, Motive und Argumente der antiken Philosophie in neuer und eigenständiger Weise: Aus der bricolage von philosophischen Konzepten und biblischen Narrativen entstehen gnostische Lehrmythen. Dies wird exemplarisch an den Mythenentwürfen der valentinianischen und basilidianischen Schulen sowie des Saturninus gezeigt.
