Zusammenfassung:A new strategy involving domino Knoevenagel hetero-Diels-Alder reaction is described for the preparation of pyrano[3,4-c]chromenes scaffold. Reaction of O-propargylated salicylaldehyde with benzoylacetonitrile or Meldrum's acid in the presence of CuI and diammonium hydrogen phosphate affords pyrano[3,4-c]chromenes with good yields and high bond-forming efficiency.
