| Zusammenfassung: | A 40-year-old female renal transplant recipient of Nigerian descent developed scattered violaceous macules and patches on her upper limbs and the soles of her feet 10 months post-transplant.She was taking tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil and prednisolone for immunosuppression.A biopsy of the skin changes was taken from her upper limb. The biopsy showed diffuse dermal proliferation of irregular thin-walled vascular channels lined by bland endothelial cells (see Figure 1); human herpesvirus type 8 (HHV-8) was intensely positive on immunohistochemistry and a diagnosis of Kaposi sarcoma (KS) was made. |
