Description
Summary:The decay-time-dependent 𝐢⁒𝑃 asymmetry in 𝐡0𝑠→𝐽/πœ“β‘(β†’πœ‡+β’πœ‡βˆ’)⁒𝐾+β’πΎβˆ’ decays is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fbβˆ’1, collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Using a sample of approximately 349 000 𝐡0𝑠 signal decays with an invariant 𝐾+β’πΎβˆ’ mass in the vicinity of the πœ™β‘(1020) resonance, the 𝐢⁒𝑃-violating phase πœ™π‘  is measured, along with the difference in decay widths of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the 𝐡0π‘ βˆ’Β―π΅0𝑠 system, Δ⁒Γ𝑠, and the difference of the average 𝐡0𝑠 and 𝐡0 meson decay widths, Ξ“π‘ βˆ’Ξ“π‘‘. The values obtained are πœ™π‘ =βˆ’0.039Β±0.022Β±0.006 rad, Δ⁒Γ𝑠=0.0845Β±0.0044Β±0.0024 psβˆ’1, and Ξ“π‘ βˆ’Ξ“π‘‘=βˆ’0.005⁒6+0.0013βˆ’0.0015Β±0.0014 psβˆ’1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. These are the most precise single measurements to date and are consistent with expectations based on the Standard Model and with the previous LHCb analyses of this decay. These results are combined with previous independent LHCb measurements. The phase πœ™π‘  is also measured independently for each polarization state of the 𝐾+β’πΎβˆ’ system and shows no evidence for polarization dependence.
