Test of lepton flavor universality with π΅+ β πΎ+β’ π+ β’πββ’ β+ β’ββ decays
The first test of lepton flavor universality between muons and electrons using π΅+βπΎ+β’π+β’πββ’β+β’ββ (β =π, π) decays is presented. The measurement is performed with data from proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an in...

| Summary: | The first test of lepton flavor universality between muons and electrons using π΅+βπΎ+β’π+β’πββ’β+β’ββ (β =π, π) decays is presented. The measurement is performed with data from proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fbβ1. The ratio of branching fractions between π΅+βπΎ+β’π+β’πββ’π+β’πβ and π΅+βπΎ+β’π+β’πββ’π+β’πβ decays is measured in the dilepton invariant-mass-squared range 1.1<π2<7.0 GeV2/π4 and is found to be π
β1πΎβ’πβ’π=1.3β’1+0.18β0.17(stat)β’ +0.12β0.09β’(syst), in agreement with the standard model prediction. The first observation of the π΅+ βπΎ+β’π+β’πββ’π+β’πβ decay is also reported. |
