520 |a Isolate 17141, an antagonist of Botrytis cinerea and Penicillium digitatum, was evaluated in different preparations and in several tests for the antagonistic potential. This bacterium is a Bacillus strain and was obtained from mature strawberry fruits. The germination of conidia of P. digitatum in aqueous strawberry fruit suspension was inhibited by the culture suspension, the culture filtrate and the washed cells of isolate 17141. In contrast, the influence on B. cinerea was less pronounced. Mycelial growth of both pathogens was strongly suppressed on strawberry medium. Since the effect of isolate 17141 obviously was caused by inhibitors, further studies were carried out to characterize these substances. Separation of the culture filtrate by anion exchange, HPLC, SDS polyacrylamidgel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing yielded two strongly suppressive protein fractions with an isoelectric point at pH 3.5. The molecular weight of the two fractions was 60 and 66 kDa. Isolat 17141, ein Antagonist von Botrytis cinerea und Penicillium digitatum, wurde in verschiedenen Zubereitungen und in mehreren Tests im Hinblick auf das antagonistische Potential geprüft. Dieses Bakterium ist ein Bacillus Stamm und wurde von reifen Erdbeerfrüchten gewonnen. Die Konidienkeimung von P. digitatum in wäßriger Erdbeerfruchtsuspension wurde sowohl von der Kultursuspension, vom Kulturfiltrat und von den gewaschenen Zellen des Isolates 17141 deutlich gehemmt. Demgegenüber war die Wirkung auf B. cinerea etwas schwächer. Das Mycelwachstum beider Pathogène auf Erdbeermedium wurde deutlich gehemmt. Da die Wirkung von Isolat 17141 offensichtlich durch Hemmstoffe hervorgerufen wurde, wurden weitere Untersuchungen durchgeführt, um diese Substanzen zu charakterisieren. Eine Auftrennung des Kulturfiltrates mittels Anionenaustauscher, HPLC, SDS Polyacrylamidgel Elektrophorese und isoelektrischer Fokussierung ergab zwei sehr wirksame Proteinfraktionen mit einem isoelektrischen Punkt bei etwa pH 3,5. Das Molekulargewicht der beiden Fraktionen lag im Bereich von 60 und 66 kDa.
