| Résumé: | This dataset models the relational network preserved in the surviving fragments of the vita Isidori by Damascius (c. 496-526 CE), a late antique philosophical biography describing the intellectual milieu of the last Neoplatonic Academy. The work survives only in fragmentary form through Byzantine intermediaries, primarily the excerpts preserved in the Bibliotheca of Photius (cod. 181 and 242) and in the lexicon of the Suda. Modern critical editions reconstruct the text by combining these sources and adding editorial interpretations. The dataset encodes all identifiable interactions between actors mentioned in the surviving fragments as network relations. It therefore does not reconstruct the historical social network of late antique philosophers but models the relational structures preserved in the transmitted material and shaped by successive stages of textual transmission. |
