Gegen die präsentistischen Reduktionen und Missverständnisse der Ringparabel möchte der vorliegende Band die literarische Geschichte dieses wirkmächtigen Erzählmodells rekonstruieren und an diesem Leitfaden entlang eine Archäologie des europäischen Toleranzgedankens liefern. Erhellt werden zunächst die Transformationen der Parabel von der Antike bis zu Boccaccio, um dann auf Lessing einzugehen und dessen Rezeption bis in die Moderne zu verfolgen. A.
