| Résumé: | Background: Diabetic retinopathy is still a common complication of diabetes mellitus, which necessitates regular screening due to the lack of symptoms during early stages. Diagnostics: Diagnostic screening modalities using permanent documentation are preferable and newer technologies using smartphones are available. Therapy: The relative role and effectiveness of euglycemia and normal blood pressure have been well defined. Intravitreal treatment of diabetic macular edema using anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antibodies show good effectiveness for some patients. |
