| Summary: | The synthesis and optical properties of several novel fluorescent and/or phosphorescent bridged tolanes (tolanophanes) are reported and their optical and structural properties are investigated. Specifically, diiodinated and bisalkynylated tolanophanes were obtained, and characterized by spectroscopy and computational methods.
