Description
Summary:Using the example of the "Duale Hochschule Baden-Wurttemberg (DHBW)" (Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University), this study analyses the development of affective commitment of cooperative education students to their training place, considering the central importance of these training places. The main focus is on how these ties develop over the three year course of studies and what kind of differentiation appears, taking into account differences specific to fields of study as well as influence of socialization. Data is drawn from the project "Course of studies positioning, success criteria, and obstacles during a dual study degree course at the Baden-Wurttemberg Cooperative State University", which gathered measurement in four survey sequences with N = 26,316. Analysis by means of Fixed-Effects-Models shows a continuously decreasing affective commitment over time while the degree of decrease differs according to the department.
