Measurement of 𝐢⁒𝑃 violation in 𝐡0β†’ πœ“(β†’β„“+β’β„“βˆ’)⁒𝐾0 𝑆⁑(β†’πœ‹+β’πœ‹βˆ’) decays

Summary:A measurement of time-dependent 𝐢⁒𝑃 violation in the decays of 𝐡0 and ¯𝐡0 mesons to the final states 𝐽/πœ“β’(β†’πœ‡+β’πœ‡βˆ’)⁒𝐾0𝑆, πœ“β‘(2⁒𝑆)⁒(β†’πœ‡+β’πœ‡βˆ’)⁒𝐾0𝑆 and 𝐽/πœ“β’( →𝑒+β’π‘’βˆ’)⁒𝐾0𝑆 with 𝐾0𝑆 β†’πœ‹+β’πœ‹βˆ’ is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 6 fbβˆ’1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of βˆšπ‘  =13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The 𝐢⁒𝑃-violation parameters are measured to be π‘†πœ“β’πΎ0𝑆=0.717Β±0.013⁒(stat)Β±0.008⁒(syst) and πΆπœ“β’πΎ0𝑆=0.008Β±0.012⁒(stat)Β±0.003⁒(syst). This measurement of π‘†πœ“β’πΎ0𝑆 represents the most precise single measurement of the CKM angle 𝛽 to date and is more precise than the current world average. In addition, measurements of the 𝐢⁒𝑃-violation parameters of the individual channels are reported and a combination with the LHCb Run 1 measurements is performed.
