Description
Summary:What do different moral values imply for the ideal number of cats and for the ideal circumstances? Programs for regulating cat populations must start from an answer on this question. In this article we examine four moral values: well-being, biodiversity, basic rights and responsibility. We present different completions of these values, their plausibility and what they mean for the ideal number of cats and the ideal circumstances in house cat populations and in feral cat populations.
